Established by David, Fee, Archie and Fin Hancock in 2020, The Summerbell Foundation strives for a better Australia—one where grassroots community organisations have the funding they need.
Our mission is to improve the education of minority groups and improve the welfare of Australian communities. So we only fund programs that will have a real & positive impact on our society. We’ve funded a range of initiatives, from education and local sports, to the arts and more – and we’re open-minded about any future program that can improve the lives of the local community.
‘Summerbell’ is a family name—and it holds a lot of meaning for us here at the Foundation.
It’s an ode to my Grandmother Cecily and her sister Kate—who together overcame times of war and terrible loss. They might not have held positions of power or had glamorous careers —but they were the backbone of this family.
And it’s because of their love that the family thrived—but it was their strength of character that inspired us to give back as much as we can.
Summerbell is a gentle reminder: to listen, show respect and give back.
And to never forget the importance of family—in whatever form it may take.
